At Meneer Smakers in Utrecht, you’ll eat burgers just the way burgers should be: big, straight from the griddle onto the bun, with a stack of fresh vegetables, cheeses and other toppings in between. You’ll be nicely full for just € 9. For € 2.75, you can add fresh skin-on fries with unlimited sauce.

Welcome to the family
The menu is divided into family members. There’s Ome Huib, the grilled chicken burger with avocado, spring onion, grilled courgette and yoghurt sauce. Tante Lieke is a vegan burger made from white lupin beans, curry and carrot, topped with mango chutney and grilled bell pepper. For fish lovers, there’s Ome Jimmie with wild salmon.

Meneer Smakers has taken over several spots in the city centre. If you don’t feel like eating at the restaurant, you can take your Tante Connie or Zusje Fleur home with you. They also regularly hit the road with their own food truck.
