Careful: Albert Heijn warns about hummus trio

Albert Heijn winkelwagen

A trio with hummus sounds delicious. After all, combining the 3 most popular types of hummus in the range (plain, sun-dried tomato and spicy hummus) on a piece of toast: nothing wrong with that. But… some packages could have a nasty surprise: this one may contain Salmonella.

Check the date

Albert Heijn has decided to remove AH Trio Hummus with a best-before date of 6-12-2021 from the shelves; it could potentially pose a health risk, especially for young children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems and pregnant women. So if you bought one of these trios, don’t eat the hummus but return it to an Albert Heijn store.

You will be reimbursed the purchase price when you return the product. It’s on sale next week, so be extra sure to check the date.

Make it yourself: easy chickpeasy

But why not just make hummus yourself? Much tastier than the supermarket version, and so easy chickpeasy that anyone can do it. With this trick, you can always put silky-smooth hummus on the table, and you’re sure to love this hummus recipe.
