CHANDON Garden Spritz is our favorite party drink, even when the sun is no longer shining

Our editorial drinks gathering isn’t complete without a generous pour of CHANDON Garden Spritz. Birthday? Wedding? Dinner party? This is the drink that instantly puts everyone in a celebratory mood. And the best part: the juice is used to supply schools, while the remaining by-products are used to fertilize CHANDON’s vineyard.

CHANDON Garden Spritz is a blend of CHANDON’s cuvée (the juice released during the first pressing of chardonnay, pinot noir and sémillon grapes) and a homemade orange liqueur. The oranges for this liqueur come from a farm in Entre Rios, in northeastern Argentina. The peels are macerated (a process in which natural yeasts convert the sugars in the fruit’s flesh into alcohol and carbon dioxide) in grape brandy, together with a selection of herbs and spices.
Giving back
And fortunately, the rest of the oranges aren’t simply thrown away. The fruit is juiced and distributed among local schools. Anything that doesn’t end up in the orange juice is used as compost in CHANDON’s vineyards. A lovely initiative, if you ask me.

But of course, it’s all about the taste. So go ahead, get yourself a bottle and make a few delicious Spritzes. It’s as simple as 123. Pour 180ml of CHANDON Garden Spritz into a large glass. Add three or four ice cubes. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary and 1 dried orange slice. Delicious!

CHANDON Garden Spritz is available at hospitality venues and selected specialist wine shops and liquor stores in two sizes: 75cl and 187ml (piccolo). A regular 75cl bottle costs €21.
