Cheebab: kebab for vegetarians

Just because you’ve stopped eating meat doesn’t mean you’ll never crave a kebab sandwich at night again, of course. In Zurich, they’ve come up with a solution. Meet cheebab: vegetarian kebab made from cheese. Still with plenty of garlic sauce.

The cheebab was invented in 2018 by a Swiss company and, according to MUNCHIES, the company is already being overwhelmed by demand for its cheesy kebab. The cheese kebab sits on the same kind of spit that regular kebab is shaved from, but this one is made from cheese. No chicken or lamb is involved.
Seasoned
The flavour is reminiscent of a mix of halloumi, raclette and cheddar. The kebab is seasoned and strong in flavour, but you can still taste the sandwich toppings well. How does such an enormous tower of cheese not melt in the heat? The inventor would rather keep that a secret. Unfortunately, the sandwich is not yet available in the Netherlands. You can get your (late-night) fix at one of the three Swiss locations or in Munich.
