Cheers: a new whisky bar has opened in Amsterdam

In the list of the best bars in the Netherlands, you’ll find the best spots for the tastiest drinks, shaken or stirred, along with the accompanying bites and dishes. This hotspot list has recently welcomed another incredible new place: ‘The Flying Deer’ whisky bar in the heart of Amsterdam.

Inspired by the Grand Series by whisky house Glenfiddich, artist Tadej Oblak has transformed the bar of Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam into a temporary neo-pop art masterpiece.
Whisky cocktails
At The Flying Deer bar, you can of course drink all the iconic Glenfiddich whiskies. From 12-year-old whiskies to exclusive single malts; there’s something for every whisky lover. Naturally, you can also enjoy cocktails here with Scotland’s pride taking center stage. And everyone knows: you can’t drink whisky on an empty stomach. Hence: steak tartare with oyster, A4 wagyu and beetroot with cassis, treviso tardivo and sourdough. These are just some of the dishes on chef Raoul Meuwese’s menu.
Garden house
It’s not only the five-star hotel’s bar that has a new look; the glass garden house in the courtyard also has a new The Flying Deer design. Here, you can sample the special whisky menu in the sun or beneath the stars. How fun is that! You can reserve a table at Amsterdam’s new hidden gem online here.
