Chicken lovers: this is where you want to go in Amsterdam

Yes, Amsterdam has gained another new hotspot. Vegans can click away immediately, because unfortunately this won’t become your new favorite spot: but if, like me, you have a soft spot for really good fried chicken… Then you’ll want to go here this week.

Maybe you already know the name: Ladybird Fried Chicken. They had a pop-up restaurant for a year, but they have now opened at their new permanent location on the Sarphatipark (where Boca’s used to be). And the name says it all, but indeed: you come here for the fried chicken. In all shapes and sizes.
From chicken wings to a burger
You can even order your chicken with caviar here. I’ll pass on that for now, but I seriously want to go here as soon as possible. This is something we really miss in the Netherlands and that I see all over the internet in the United States (on TikTok, for example). What is it? The best sauces to go with wings. Why can I never get blue cheese with my portion of chicken wings? Or the hot honey, Buffalo or lemon pepper, which according to all those TikTokers are supposed to be absolutely heavenly?
They’re all on the menu here, which is extremely good news. So it won’t surprise you that one of the two men behind Lady Bird Fried Chicken is from New York. Well, cliché but true: when it comes to fried snacks (and everything that goes with them), Americans really are better.
If you’re not that crazy about chicken wings, they also have the Ladybird Burger (on a brioche bun), and if you don’t like gnawing on bones, they also have tenders. I was actually hoping they would deliver to homes too, because I would seriously have ordered it right now. But unfortunately, they don’t. I’ll make my move here this weekend.
