Child loves sushi but isn’t allowed to have it: ‘too expensive’

Marijke Groot decided to post something on Twitter this week, but she didn’t exactly receive the support she was probably hoping for. Quite the opposite, in fact: what she got on her plate was a whole lot of criticism. And on that plate was sushi, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Her daughter was jealous, but she was left out.

‘When I’m married later, I’ll be allowed to eat sushi too,’ she told her mother while looking jealously at all the sushi rolls.

‘She eats quite a lot’

Twitter reacted with surprise: why didn’t Marijke simply give her daughter some sushi too, if she wanted it so badly? Her explanation caused Twitter to explode: ‘she eats a lot and then I find it becomes rather expensive.’ Uh, okay? So her daughter gets different food, with one or two pieces of sushi alongside it. Yep, while Marijke herself naturally eats a full sushi dinner.

The criticism became so intense that Marijke has now protected her Twitter account. I’m not usually a big supporter of trying to destroy people online, but perhaps something good has ultimately come of this: an all-you-can-eat sushi dinner for her daughter, for example?
