Corona news: you can now order a delivery sommelier

What do you do when your wine bar has to close for weeks or even months because of corona? Wouter Aalst of wine bar Paskamer asked himself the same question and came up with a brilliant plan: the delivery sommelier.

Wouter: “Because many restaurants have turned to delivery, I wanted to do something as close as possible to our strength, which is wine and food. Because which wine goes best with which dish is difficult for many people. And what do you do in these insane corona times? Call the delivery sommelier!
How does it work?
There are two options. Option 1 is to send Wouter a WhatsApp message (0681430165) telling him what you are going to eat. He comes up with a suitable wine recommendation and delivers a suitable wine to you. It costs between €10 and €15 and is already at the right temperature. The second option is to order a surprise bottle on the Paskamer website and mention in the comments what you are going to eat with it. The cost of such a surprise bottle varies between €12.50, €18 and €25. Everyone who orders before 4:00 p.m. will have their order delivered before 6:00 p.m. And this applies throughout Amsterdam.
Recommendation
Wouter’s tip: “Order something exciting, not something ordinary, because these aren’t ordinary times either. We have a fantastic Verdicchio in the webshop, for example. It always makes me happy when someone orders it!” The most expensive wine is an Amarone from Brigaldara for €49.95. Wouter (laughing): “But if someone wants to drink a 1985 Margaux (at €550), I’d be happy to deliver that too.”
