Corona-proof: this restaurant has just 1 table and 1 chair

Preparations to make the hospitality industry corona-proof are well underway. From plastic screens in front of your face to a short intake on arrival: we’re all (reluctantly, admittedly) willing to put up with it. But the number 1 corona-proof restaurant? It’s in Sweden.

Bord För En is everything you wouldn’t expect from a restaurant. Where you’re normally surrounded by the murmur of other guests, things are a little quieter at Bord För En. The temporary restaurant has just one table with one chair and is located in the middle of a Swedish meadow, to top it all off.
Solo dining
The solo restaurant was set up by Swedish couple Rasmus Persson and Linda Karlsson. They came up with the idea for Bord För En after, because of corona, they could only deliver food to Linda’s parents through the kitchen window. Chef Ramus Persson now cooks a changing 3-course menu in his own kitchen (50 metres from the table). You won’t encounter any service at Bord För En either, because the dishes arrive in a basket via a rope from the kitchen window straight to your table – you can take the food out yourself.

Safety first
Even after that one guest has left, corona-proof procedures continue. Rasmus and Linda do not touch the table in the meadow for 6 hours before disinfecting it completely. Even the plates and cutlery are washed twice.
Open temporarily
Bord För En has already welcomed its first guests and is so popular, while offering so little space, that it is fully booked for the entire month of May. The temporary restaurant is open until August. Perhaps a mini-break to Sweden this summer after all?
