We recently wrote rather enthusiastically about the delivery meal from restaurant Scheepskameel, and now the Scheeps guys have come up with a new initiative that makes us very happy: Hotel de Scheepskameel. If you book an overnight stay at Hotel The Exchange, you get a second room for your private dinner from Scheepskameel free of charge. Hotel Scheepskameel opens this Friday (May 8); you can make reservations from today.
The coronavirus is hitting the hospitality industry hard, and although some steps in the right direction have finally been taken with the cautious reopening on June 1, the hospitality industry is looking for ways to keep its businesses alive with fun and enthusiasm. By keeping our distance, maintaining low occupancy and, of course, washing, washing, washing, washing, the hospitality industry stays up and running—and we stay happy. Because look at this brilliant initiative from Otto Nan (Hotel The Exchange) and Pieter Smits (Scheepskameel).
Dining in your dinner room
Hotel Scheepskameel is not large, so there is only limited space each evening. A maximum of half of Hotel The Exchange will be transformed into private dinner spaces: beautifully decorated rooms with one romantically set table for two—the setting for an unforgettable dinner. The starter, main course and dessert will be brought to the dinner room at the time you prefer. There is an extensive selection of German wines from Scheepskameel to order, and of course the renowned madeleines with sabayon cream are also served with coffee. After dinner, it is only a short walk to the bedroom. The next morning, you will receive a fresh breakfast in bed.
Get your feet off the floor
Naturally, music has also been taken into consideration: the rooms have an easy-to-activate Bluetooth speaker and a matching playlist. There are flowers too, and if you want to go all out, XXL bouquets can be arranged. Massages, haircuts and styling can be added once the government allows this again.
