Coronavirus news: this winery is using their dog as a wine courier

What are you supposed to do if you really want to drink a glass of wine but can’t go to the liquor store because of coronavirus? A liquor store in Maryland, USA, has the perfect solution: they hired a dog to bring wine to you in a little bag. Woof!

The American winery Stone House Urban Winery had to close its tasting room because of coronavirus, but refused to sit back and do nothing. Since there is no evidence that pets can be a source of infection or become infected with Covid-19, they decided to put Soda the dog to work as… a wine courier!

Lori Yata, the winery’s co-owner, came up with the alternative delivery option, and it turned out to be a huge success. Soda is equipped with a saddlebag that can hold two bottles and walks over to customers waiting in the parking lot to deliver the wine. In a Facebook post, Lori said that business had remained stable and that sales had even received a boost since Soda arrived. And let’s be honest, isn’t a friendly wine courier exactly what you feel like having right now?
