Try saying that ten times fast. The crème brûlée crêpe cone combines the best of three worlds: crème brûlée, a crêpe and an ice cream cone in one. It’s the specialty of Com Crepe, and there are long lines for this hybrid snack every day. The sugar on the creamy custard is caramelized just enough, and the crêpe is thin and crispy.

We love curry, we love donuts. So these karepan are delicious too. Maybe. We don’t know whether the inventors of this snack were stoned when they came up with this recipe, but the fact is that it’s a huge success on the streets of Tokyo. Such a success, in fact, that an anime character was named after it: Karepanman. His superpower? He can spray curry from his face. Want street food and have money to burn? Non-melting ice cream
In Italy, we have to lick our ice cream as if our lives depended on it; otherwise, we might as well order a milkshake. You don’t have to do that if you buy Kanawaza ice cream. The claim is that this ice cream doesn’t melt at temperatures below forty degrees. You get a kind of soft serve in the flavor of your choice, shaped, appropriately enough, like a polar bear. Then you choose a sauce (strawberry ice cream with strawberry sauce, anyone?) and take it with you in a cardboard container. The texture is somewhat reminiscent of a cold marshmallow.
Everything with Gudetama the lazy eggyolk
In Japan, they call him lazy; we’d call him more chronically gloomy. But he’s so adorable! Gudetama is a cartoon egg yolk with a butt, he has his own themed café in Tokyo and he’s super popular. Technically not street food, but still worth mentioning… you can eat Gudetama’s mother. What does that entail? A chicken leg with a pile of rice next to it bearing Gudetama’s sad little face. And a speech bubble: Mom..? A horror story on your plate.
