Culinary masterclass

How can the flavours and aromas in a dish bring out the best in one another? And how exactly does that fifth taste, umami, work again? What does it take to translate your culinary ideas into your own cookbook? And what are the latest trends in recipes and cookbooks?

Two renowned culinary connoisseurs will immerse you in the world of flavours, recipes and cookbooks for an afternoon during a culinary masterclass. We know Joël Broekaert as a culinary critic for NRC and Vrij Nederland, author of the book De Alleseter and creator of the TV programme De Smaken van Joël. Jonah Freud has been running the Kookboekhandel in Amsterdam for many years, perhaps the most fun (and delicious) bookshop in the Netherlands. In addition, as a successful publisher, she produces books we have been fans of for years (including the much-acclaimed Koekje featuring Cees Holtkamp’s cookies).
Bon Apetit
The afternoon, organised by the online writing academy Editio, consists of two interactive talks by Joël and Jonah. During the masterclass, you can already put your senses to the test with various culinary surprises. At the end of the day, every participant will receive Jonah’s latest book: Bon Apetit.
This culinary masterclass takes place on Wednesday 12 September at 14:30 at Editio in Amsterdam. You can register on Editio’s website.
