’t Stoepje is a large bakery chain with stalls at six hundred different markets throughout the Netherlands. So there’s a good chance you’ve already bought a currant bun there, or a delicious cinnamon bun.

100,000 currant buns

Last week, on the International Day of Peace, the bakery’s nationwide campaign began. The market bakers are supporting children growing up in war zones by donating part of their proceeds to War Child. Hundreds of thousands of currant buns are set to make a difference for these children.

#SAYPEACE

At the market, bakers pass on the message of peace to their customers from behind their stalls. The bags of currant buns feature so-called ‘#SAYPEACE bread clips’. The bakers and their employees encourage everyone to pin these clips to their clothing to show that they support this sympathetic initiative.

The campaign started on 21 September and runs until 21 October.
