Customers have had enough: complaints are pouring in about Albert Heijn’s scratch-card promotion

It seemed like such a fun promotion from Albert Heijn: until 21 August, you received a scratch card with every €15 spent on groceries. With it, you always scratched off a FREE product. From free ice creams to handy household products. But as it turns out, most of the products are completely unavailable. Customers have had enough and are making their feelings very clear.

You’re being ripped off right in front of your eyes
Wilma is also furious: ‘None of the scratched-off products are in stock, either in the shop or online. And if something is in stock online, you can’t enter the code. You’re being ripped off right in front of your eyes. Last week I went every day looking for Ariel pods, 10-pack, Dreft washing-up liquid and Oral-B toothpaste. Not in stock a single day. Plenty of Ariel pods 12-pack, plenty of large bottles of Dreft washing-up liquid, and plenty of all other types of Oral-B.’
Promotion extended
Albert Heijn understands the commotion and has decided to extend the redemption period for the cards; you can still redeem your scratch cards until 2 October (the promotion’s original end date was 2 September). And can’t you find your free product? If you send customer service a message, they’ll be happy to help you find out where the items are in stock in your area.
