You know those people who always forget something when they go grocery shopping (hi, it’s me)—yes, even at Christmas. Luckily, many supermarkets are simply open today (Boxing Day). And that’s how I ended up at Lidl just now. And what did I spot there? Viennetta salted caramel! At a bargain price!

For people who can’t get enough of salted caramel (hi, it’s me – again), this is naturally a delicious snack. To be honest, I find the regular price a little (too) high; I’d rather pay a bit more for Häagen-Dazs salted caramel ice cream (this really is heaven in a tub..) but nothing gives you quite the classic Christmas vibe of a Viennetta. It’s basically the Mariah Carey of Christmas desserts, isn’t it? You don’t play/eat it for the rest of the year, but around mid-December you suddenly find yourself craving it again.
I’d say: make one more stop at Lidl and you’ll have a Christmas dessert for free. Happy snacking!
