Do you have no self-control when it comes to spiced biscuits, chocolate letters and marzipan? Good news: you’re doing your teeth a huge favour if you eat all your Sinterklaas candy in one go.

You sometimes come across something when you’re browsing the internet unsuspectingly. Eating all your candy in one go sounds like every child’s dream and according to this delightful video we came across on Nu.nl, it’s also best for your Prodent smile.

Less chance of cavities

Dentist Ai Lien Oei can confirm this. “This tactic results in fewer eating moments and therefore fewer sugar/acid attacks on the teeth. That means less chance of cavities. Not very sociable, but absolutely true.” Good for your teeth, unfortunately somewhat less so for the rest of your body. “If you take in a lot of sugar all at once, your body has to work very hard to lower your blood sugar level again. So that is precisely what we don’t want, especially in children.” So says sports dietitian Esther van Etten.

Empty the entire bag

We always listen to news that works in our favour, so in this case we’re definitely choosing the health of our teeth. Bring on that bag of truffle spiced biscuits!
