Enjoying All-Round Vegan Delights This Weekend

Vegan Food Festival

The Westergasfabriek site in Amsterdam is the place to be for trendy events many times a year. During the Vegan Food Festival, die-hard vegans but also, especially, non-vegans can indulge and explore a plant-based lifestyle.

The press dinner at the sustainable QO hotel in Amsterdam made that clear. The festival will be about so much more than just plant-based food. It will be an all-round, sustainability- and animal-friendly event that also focuses on sports, children and clothing.

You’re Young and You Want Something

Mik and Jeremy from events agency 25th Hour Agency, which is responsible for the Vegan Food Festival, are young. So it is clear that the vegan trend is particularly popular among young adults. Among these men’s circle of friends, there was a strong demand for ‘an event for vegans for once’. Well, actually, not an event exclusively for vegans. It had to be accessible and broadly appealing. And they succeeded. Perhaps precisely because they are young and have looked carefully at what is going on around them.

Food, Music and Lifestyle

The Juice Brothers will be there, as will Van Leeuwen ice cream, Vleesch noch Visch, Sticky Fingers and Las Fritas Y Más. So there will be no shortage of delicious food. Fries with a Spanish twist, such as Andalusian sauce or fried jalapeños? They have it. Pita gyros, gado gado or tikka masala? They have those too. Dessert from the Donut Dude or an Instagrammable square of cake? Of course.

But the festival goes beyond food alone. There are workshops, talks and documentaries to attend, you can shop for clothes, and there is an after-party every evening. At the Chicago Social Club, for example. If you like, you can even work up a sweat with Vondelgym.
