Fancy filling up? These petrol stations sell sandwiches by a Michelin-starred chef

I go absolutely crazy every time I fill up. Because of the price! And then it gets even more expensive too—outrageous! For emotional eaters who get completely stressed out by this and/or hungry travellers, there is a small ray of light: Shell sells a tuna sandwich (pain niçoise) by Michelin-starred chef Margo Reuten.

Pain niçoise by Michelin-starred chef Margo Reuten
This isn’t the first time Shell has sold star-worthy sandwiches. Previously, there was already a collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Soenil Bahadoer. Margo Reuten’s pain niçoise, known from the French-oriented Da Vinci restaurant in Maasbracht, is a light sandwich topped with tuna salad, arugula, marinated grilled vegetables, egg and a pesto dressing. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it?
Vegetarian version
Margo has also developed a vegetarian version for Shell: a veggie wrap filled with herb cream cheese, tapenade, grilled vegetables, arugula and egg. The tuna sandwich and the wrap are an adaptation of a wonderfully summery Da Vinci celebration, according to Margo.

Availability of Shell sandwiches
From today (1 May) through 3 September 2024, Margo Reuten’s specials are available at all 105 Shell Cafés with a bakery in the Netherlands. The pain niçoise costs 6.50 euros, while the veggie wrap costs 4.75 euros.
