Frikandel-eating world champion

Okay, we do like a frikandel, but after one or two we’re usually pretty full. Apparently, eighteen-year-old Ton from Dordrecht is not: he ate 17.5 in fifteen minutes, making him the world champion frikandel eater. This doesn’t come naturally; eating that many frikandellen requires extensive training with a coach. Normally, he prefers to eat his frikandel with applesauce.

Chef gives food to the poor

Chef Matt Jozwiak (former chef de partie at Eleven Madison Park, the best restaurant in the world) is now giving food to the poor in New York. In the city, 1.4 million people go hungry, while 40 percent of food is thrown away. Through the project – ReThink – Jozwiak makes nutritious meals from leftovers from local high-end restaurants. More and more fast-food establishments in the Netherlands

Good news: more and more fast-food establishments are opening in the Netherlands. That means more and more places to satisfy your snack cravings. The growth is due to fast-food chains expanding and American chains such as Dunkin’ Donuts and Five Guys coming to the Netherlands. Alongside the major chains, more and more gourmet snack shops such as Frites Atelier and Croquetten Boutique are opening too.
