Yellow mustard – New York deli style

Of course, we’re really fans of hyper-artisanal coarse mustard ground between antique millstones. The coarser, the better. But for smooth New York deli style yellow mustard, we’re happy to make an exception.

That surely has something to do with the Proustian experience a simple yellow squiggle already provides. It immediately makes you feel as though you’re in New York, even if you’ve never been there. After all, virtually every American film or series includes a little yellow mustard moment. Hot dog in one hand, yellow squeeze bottle in the other, a bit of sauerkraut on top, a gherkin on the side…

Who needs coarse mustard then?
