FavorFlavs #8

We all have them: favorite flavors, ingredients, and kitchen tools. FavorFlavs we always find ourselves reaching for (again). These are ours.

Fresh ginger
There’s always one on the counter in the FavorFlav editorial office. One of those knobbly roots of fresh ginger. With a razor-sharp knife next to it. To cut wafer-thin slices of ginger root for tea or simply boiled water. No doubt there are convincing health reasons behind this habit. Antioxidants, zingiberene, and so on.
But what we’re mainly after is that pleasant kick a slice of fresh ginger gives your tongue. Making you immediately feel re-energized and ready to type the next piece. Better than coffee! (Almost.)
Available from greengrocers and supermarkets.
