For all burrata fans: wine festival Bacchus has a special burrata bar

burrata

During the first two weekends of June, it’s party time once again in the Amsterdamse Bos. Amsterdam wine shops and winemakers will be presenting more than 300 different wines during the best festival of the year: Bacchus. And we’ve called in our friends from Kaasfort Amsterdam for a real burrata bar. Will you stop by?

You can’t drink wine on an empty stomach. Well, you can try, but it has never ended well for me. And since wine and cheese are a top combination, you kill two birds with one stone at the burrata bar. Burrata + wine = pure bliss, after all.

Burrata bar

During Bacchus, you can order burrata with various toppings and, if you really want to go all out, treat yourself and your friends to a glass of champagne from Marcoult too. This is what you call a brilliant bubbly. Its silky texture fills your mouth and gently tingling bubbles tickle your palate. My mouth is watering just writing about it! And with such top-notch burrata on the side… Party!

Burrata and mozzarella from Kaasfort Amsterdam

When you team up with one of Europe’s best cheese affineurs, you know you’re getting the real deal. Take their buffalo mozzarella and fresh burrata from their Italian cheese producer Il Parco… Once you’ve tasted this delicacy, you won’t want anything else. Believe me, because I was sold after one bite, and whenever I see Kaasfort owner René Koelman, he brings me one of those balls. Il Parco’s cheese is insanely delicious. Very creamy, with a deep buffalo milk flavor.

Bacchus

For those who don’t know Bacchus yet: this has been the most convivial little wine festival in the Amsterdamse Bos for years. You can drink the tastiest wines in a relaxed atmosphere—but wine connoisseurs are very welcome too. And you might even be one by the end of the day. The wine merchants and winemakers are bursting with wine knowledge and are happy to share it with you. And if you want to outshine them on their own turf, memorize these wine terms.

Bacchus tickets

Tempted yet? Wine festival Bacchus in the Amsterdamse Bos is open on June 2, 3, 4 & 9, 10, 11, 2023, in the Amsterdamse Bos. Dogs and children are also very welcome; at Children’s Paradise “Chateau Migraine” there’s a silent disco, and there are bitterballen from the smallest snack wall in the Netherlands for you and your brood (and/or dog). Tickets are selling fast; both Saturdays are almost sold out. A warned party animal counts for two, so don’t wait too long to get your tickets.
