For all steak lovers: Loetje opens a new location in Zwolle
The steak specialist that won a gold medal at our annual FavorFlav Food top 100 just keeps going! Loetje is opening yet another location, this time in Zwolle.
Zwolle will get a Loetje steak restaurant in early 2022. A major renovation will begin after the summer period in the former Urbana building, just outside Zwolle’s city centre. In February, Loetje already announced plans to open four new restaurants in Enschede, Delft, Arnhem and Leiden. With the new location in Zwolle, Loetje—which once started as an Amsterdam steak café—will have 27 locations.
More than 200,000 cows
Magazine Quote, which published an extensive feature in 2019 about the steak empire founded by the late Loetje Klinkhamer, calculated that 165,000 cows were needed each year to meet consumers’ hungry demand for steak. At the time, there were ‘only’ 18 locations, so there’s a good chance that the two hundred thousand mark has since been comfortably exceeded…
