From Breakfast to Dinner: Christmas Snacks from the Supermarket

Every year, supermarkets expand their Christmas range once again. You name it: from reindeer-shaped cheese to snowman ice creams. This should get you through the festive season.

Breakfast
We naturally start the day with breakfast. You’ll almost certainly find this hard to believe, but these days they even make reindeer-shaped slices of cheese and slices of luncheon meat with Santa Claus on them. Who knows, maybe this topping will make your kids’ morning grumpiness disappear in the blink of an eye. You can get it at Plus.

Lunch
After breakfast comes lunch, and what is lunch without Christmas-themed sprinkles? With green reindeer candies, of course. You can buy the Christmas sprinkles at Appie.

Snack time
The kids come home from school again and it’s time for hot chocolate and tea, and something delicious to go with them. In this case, Christmas petit fours from Hema.

Around 5:00 p.m., it starts: the craving for snacks. Fortunately, supermarkets also think of drinks and nibbles. For example, this cream cheese with cranberry on a toast from Albert Heijn. In the shape of a Christmas tree, naturally.

Dinner
Forget fries—these Christmas tree-shaped potato cakes from Jumbo are much more fun to eat with Christmas dinner.

Dessert
Ice cream in all shapes and sizes. Supermarkets may well be best at that. We thought these were the most fun varieties from Plus and Albert Heijn.

If by the end of the day you still haven’t had enough sugar, there’s always the classic: the tompouce. With coffee. Or without coffee—when it comes to a tompouce, you never need an excuse.
