Go big or go home! Down Under opens Utrecht’s largest terrace
They previously earned the title of best terrace in the province of Utrecht, and now hospitality and water sports venue Down Under in Nieuwegein can add another title: that of largest terrace in the province.

How big is it? Big. Even bigger than a football field. In other words: “More than enough space for everyone to enjoy a drink, a tasty lunch or something else to eat and the sunshine while keeping a distance of one and a half metres,” manager Paul Gootjes told Misset Horeca.
Washing hands
Like all other hospitality venues, the terrace at the Laagravense lake will open next Monday, 1 June, with the necessary measures in place: all guests will first be asked a few screening questions and everyone must wash their hands. A bar and an outdoor kitchen have been set up on the terrace, where guests can order food and drinks so they do not have to go inside.
No reservations
In addition to eating, drinking and sunbathing, you can also enjoy a zip line and water sports, there is a bouncy castle for the children, and every Friday and Saturday there is a live DJ providing background music. Reservations for a table on the terrace are not necessary. Plenty of space!
