Good news for whisky fans: you can now make your own blend
Have you always wanted to make your own whisky? Then I have good news for you! During Amsterdam Cocktail Week, you can do exactly that. So wake up the whisky expert in you and start blending!
You won’t do that with just any whisky, but with the famous Scottish whisky brand Chivas Regal. During the special ‘Art of Blending’ experience, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at Chivas Regal and learn more about the history of premium whisky, including the origins of single malt and grain whiskies. What about the different flavours ranging from creamy, smoky, citrusy, fruity and floral? And how do you blend all those different flavour profiles into an excellent whisky, exactly the way you like it?
Booking?
The Art of Blending takes place in a private room behind the iconic Freddy’s Bar. If you book a session, you can also taste the Chivas cocktail ‘Alvarium’, created especially for Amsterdam Cocktail Week. Art of Blending tickets cost €15 and can be booked here. The sessions take place twice a day on Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Saturday 21 March at 17:00 and 19:00.
Coronavirus update 13 March 2020: we have just learned that, due to all the new measures, it has been decided to move the event to a later date this year. So the blending series will go ahead, but not during Amsterdam Cocktail Week. We’ll let you know as soon as we have more information about the new dates!
