Great news for whisky lovers

It may cost a pretty penny, but it’s worth it: since this month, you can book a proper Whisky Experience at Bridges*, the Michelin-starred restaurant in Sofitel Legend The Grand in Amsterdam.

A first: whisky pairing at Michelin-star level
The days when you could only choose a wine pairing in a restaurant are long gone. These days, tea pairings and beer pairings are perfectly normal. But a whisky pairing, and in a Michelin-starred restaurant no less? That’s something new.

At the Chef’s Table
The Whisky Experience includes a five-course menu with a special Glenfiddich whisky pairing. You’ll be seated at Chef Raoul Meuwese’s Chef’s Table, right in the middle of the Bridges kitchen. And let’s be honest: there’s nothing more fun than sitting right on top of the chefs as they conjure up the most beautiful dishes for you, right?
To pair the menu with the different whiskies as well as possible, chef Raoul Meuwese and maître-sommelier Marco Westra visited the distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. The inspiration they found there comes through clearly in the dishes. There are several exceptional dishes featuring different Glenfiddich whiskies, paired with hand-dived Scottish scallops and smoked trout.

Booking?
The Glenfiddich Chef’s Table Whisky Experience (5 courses) costs €250 per person, including a welcome aperitif with canapés, a Glenfiddich whisky pairing, water, coffee/tea & mignardises (in other words: delicious little coffee-time treats).
