Guests Ask for Ice in Their Wine and Get a Hilarious Bill

Asking for ice in your glass of wine… I think many a wine connoisseur would look at you with disdain. But on a hot day, you simply want your white wine to be properly chilled, and unfortunately that isn’t always the case. An Australian couple therefore saw no other option than to ask for ice cubes in their wine after all… And were then presented with a hilarious bill.

Fortunately, they were able to see the humor in it too. Under the glass of wine, the bill read: ‘ice in it f*cking bogans.’ HAHA.

For clarity: in Australia, ‘bogans’ means something like what we might call a ‘tokkie’ — so it is definitely not an affectionate nickname. The Australian couple did see the humor in it and shared the bill online — only the waitress’s boss found it slightly less funny.

Not Everyone Saw the Humor in It

And so Amelia (the waitress) was called in for a reprimand and received ‘three months’ probation’: if she made another little mistake, she would be out. The internet was up in arms, because everyone was on Amelia’s side. Surely a joke should be allowed? Well, I would probably laugh too if it appeared on my bill, but I fear not everyone sees the humor in this.
