Gulpener is building the most sustainable brewery in Europe

A green beer? That doesn’t sound very appealing, but it certainly is. No, not literally green in color, of course, but made in a green brewery. That will soon be possible. Gulpener has started building Europe’s most sustainable brewhouse.

How? New brewing and energy technologies will soon ensure that 75% less electricity is needed and that the brewery in Limburg can operate entirely on renewable energy and local raw materials. All of that does not yet exist in one place, which means it will become the most sustainable brewhouse—certainly in Europe. How cool!
The (family-owned) company expects the entire project to take until spring 2020 and promises a true spectacle: kettles through the roof, pipes across the road. We’re curious!
