Hack: how to clean a microwave

We’ll be honest: our microwave isn’t always spotless either. And these appliances can get incredibly dirty. Every now and then, they need a good clean, and when the time comes, we make it as easy on ourselves as possible. Like this. 

Rinse the turntable and put it in the dishwasher. Fill a heatproof cup with cleaning vinegar and put it in the microwave for five minutes on the highest setting. The vinegar produces steam and loosens the residue inside your microwave. You can now easily wipe away the baked-on grime. Don’t have any cleaning vinegar at home? Water with lemon works too. Wait overnight

Don’t have either cleaning vinegar or lemon at home, and don’t mind waiting overnight? Then coat the sides of your microwave with soft soap and fill a small bowl with ammonia. Place the bowl in the center of the microwave overnight. The next day, the dirt will have come loose and you can easily scrub it away.
