Have it! The Kamado barbecue from Action

Suns out and that means I’ll be flipping burgers on the barbecue as soon as possible. Now, I’m blessed with friends who have a huge outdoor kitchen including a barbecue, but otherwise I would know what to do: this kamado from Action really is a gem.

What is a kamado?
A kamado is a ceramic BBQ with a lid. This means it works like an oven and allows you to regulate the temperature perfectly. Kamado is also the Japanese word for stove or oven. And in Japan, they’ve known this for ages: you can prepare complete meals in a kamado. As impressive as its appearance is, so are the qualities of the ceramic barbecue: you can use it not only for barbecuing; a kamado is also suitable for slow cooking, grilling, baking and steaming. The ceramic core and tightly fitting lid ensure temperatures of up to 400 degrees Celsius and retain the heat for an extremely long time. This has the advantage that meat sears quickly, preserving the flavour perfectly and allowing the meat to be enjoyed wonderfully tender. Thanks to the kamado’s technology, you can use it all year round, regardless of the Dutch weather.

Ceramic insulates like nothing else, meaning that not only does the meat remain wonderfully juicy and tender, but other dishes also retain their flavour optimally. Other barbecues really can’t compete with that. So you might as well put on your grilling apron now. The kamado barbecue from Action is 18 inches and measures 105 x 63 x 45 cm, with a Ø 37.5 cm grilling surface. The kamado barbecue costs 299 euros.
You can also order a slightly larger one, by the way. The 21-inch Kamado barbecue costs 399 euros.
