HEMA sausage at a discount

Smoked sausages, tompouces and sausage rolls at a hefty discount? For a few euros, you can order an entire box full of foodie goodies from HEMA!

We were already fans of the Too Good To Go app, which lets you pick up a box of products from your favorite shops at a significantly reduced price—products that can no longer be sold. The use-by date has then (almost) passed, but the product is genuinely still fine to eat. Shops such as Marqt and EkoPlaza have been participating for a while, as has our favorite pastry maker Waldo, but HEMA is now joining too with a real Magic Box.

The Magic Box contains €12 worth of products, while you pay only €4 for it through the app. What’s in the box is always a surprise, but they are products with a use-by date that is too short for them to be donated to the Food Bank. Naturally, we’re hoping for tompouces, smoked sausages and perhaps a HEMA hot dog? HEMA also sells plenty of bread, cold cuts and other fresh products that could easily end up in the box.

Test
Throughout November, HEMA and Too Good To Go are running a test to see whether the Magic Box catches on. During the trial period, five HEMA stores in Amsterdam will take part. If it’s a success, it will be expanded to other cities.
