Hotspot: Asian snack bar Hurryhurrygogo

HurryHurrygogo (1)

I gotta hurry, hurry, hurry… Just like the song Happiness by Alexis Jordan, Hurryhurrygogo keeps partying in your head. The name strongly brings Happyhappyjoyjoy to mind, which is hardly surprising, as it is the youngest and most rebellious little sister of this successful restaurant.

Tell us, tell us. What is it?

It is another Asian new-style snack bar from IQ Creative. Unlike at Happyhappy, here you order at a hatch that vaguely resembles one at a Chinese restaurant. It is a bar with food, and everything is to go.

Where is it located?

In the vaulted basement beneath Supperclub, which formerly housed French Connection, something that never really got off the ground. The interior is hysterically Asian, with lots of color, parasols on the ceiling, a vending machine full of Asian gadgets and a wall covered in lucky cats giving you the middle finger. Foek joe!

What can you eat?

The menu features 20 small street-food dishes costing less than 10 euros. Think a perfectly good portion of rendang fries, a heavenly satay and a Happy Ending for dessert. Tasty Asian-inspired snacks that can keep the accompanying Bintangs and Singha beers flowing until deep into the night.

Will we come back?

Absolutely. This place invites you to spend ting tong evenings. Just like at its colorful sisters, you may not come here for the very best Asian food, but for the wonderfully chaotic atmosphere and the fun, young crowd. It feels a bit like going out in Bangkok, back when anything was still possible here. But then in the heart of Amsterdam.

Opening hours

Hurryhurrygogo is open 6 days a week until the early hours. On Monday, Wednesday and Sunday, the doors are open from 17:00 to 02:00; on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, even until 03:00. The kitchen closes one hour before closing time.
