How do you score on the chicken-wing-gnawing scale?

Some people eat no more than the easiest meat to get to, while others even suck out the marrow. When it comes to gnawing chicken, the differences are huge. And we mean: gigantic. But where is the line? A heated discussion has erupted on Twitter.

In my group of friends, I’m known as a chicken fanatic. I get pretty annoyed by people who don’t gnaw their chicken properly. I find it lazy. And such a waste, because chicken waste. So I simply point out their unfinished bones to my loved ones. Don’t they want to eat it themselves? Then I’ll do it for them. That chicken died to be eaten, so I’ll make sure it gets eaten too.

So the fact that a Twitter discussion recently arose about what is and isn’t acceptable on the chicken-gnawing scale makes me very happy too. It all started with this tweet:

‘With a knife and fork’

On a good day, I score a 5, but I consider 4 the absolute minimum. Opinions in the editorial office differ wildly. Delilah: “I’m also a 4.5. I initially wanted to say 4, but then I saw a decent piece right down there, to the left beneath the top ‘joint’.” Lauretta: “3. I don’t like those tendons at the top.” Laura: “A 4. If it were fish bones, it would be higher. I eat everything off the fish.” And—ladies and gentlemen, hold on to your hats—Sharon: “A 0. I don’t gnaw. I eat it with a knife and fork (don’t laugh).” Yes, people, this is our editor-in-chief. “I just find everything about it disgusting. Stuff between your teeth. Dirty hands, lipstick everywhere. I even take chicken satay off the skewer with my fork first.” Oh well, we can’t blame her. Her father eats rusks (!!) with a knife and fork.

Twitter goes wild

Just as the discussion is unfolding here in the editorial office, it’s unfolding on Twitter too. Entire social measurement systems are being created:

And harsh judgments are being handed down.

For some people, it depends on where they are.

For some, 3 is enough.

For others, even 5 isn’t good enough.

Look, this is how you do it:

Single? Now you know why:

You can solve it this way too:

Naturally, I wholeheartedly agree with this.

Okay, there is one reason to choose 1:
