How Loud the Music Is Determines How Much You Drink

Sometimes the music is so insanely loud that you have to WhatsApp each other just to be able to communicate at all. Annoying. And not only that; it also affects how quickly you drink.

This is shown by research from a French university. During the study, forty men were divided between two bars. In the bar with loud music, the drinks went down much faster than in the bar with a lower volume. The only thing we’re wondering is why we weren’t invited to take part in this study.

The pace at which the beer was poured down the hatch was also many times higher in the bar with loud music. How come? Let’s go back to the problem mentioned earlier: communicating. Which becomes almost impossible when the music is at volume 100. To compensate for the “lack” of social contact, people simply drink. Another activity, so to speak. Too bad that music at volume 1 isn’t a miracle cure for that tequila hangover
