How to: fries table

It’s your lifesaver when you don’t feel like cooking, ideal for large groups, annoying children and/or kids’ parties, the third day of Christmas, or simply on Sunday evening: the fries table. Once you know it, you can’t live without it.

Fries table
Okay, let’s start at the beginning. A fries table—how does it work? First, cover the table with aluminum foil (for the fancy ones among us: a paper tablecloth works too). Then dump the fries onto the table in one big pile, add your favorite sauces and snacks, and the party can begin. Then, when everyone has finished eating, all you have to do is fold the whole lot together and—whoosh—into the bin! In short, the easiest, most fun, and most delicious dinner imaginable! (Yes, you can tell, I’m a fan).

Tips and tricks
Of course, there are a few things to keep in mind during a fries table. Number one by far: eat quickly! Because hot food spread out over a table gets cold quickly, and cold fries are a bit like flat cola: no longer tasty. So make sure the onions are sliced and the satay sauce is heated before the fries go on the table. Naturally, you’ll also end up with greasy hands all over the place. Call me crazy, but at fries tables in my home, I like to hand out white latex gloves beforehand. They’re also a tried-and-tested accessory for friends with germophobia.
Ice cream table
And dessert? An ice cream table! Following exactly the same rules, of course. All the ice cream on the table (no paper surface, but foil). And above all, don’t forget the whipped cream and 10 different toppings!
