The premier chefs’ competition for young chefs under 30 is the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition. Here, new talents compete for the title of ‘Best Young Chef’. Last year, the very young Dutch chef Jet Loos was nominated with her fantastic dish. And during the final, she once again managed to impress the jury.

Who determines the future of gastronomy? For the fifth time, S.Pellegrino is seeking the answer with a jury of renowned chefs. The participating chefs – all aged 30 or younger – undergo an intensive selection process for the 2023 finals. Each develops their own signature dish, presenting their culinary vision on a single plate. Every participant is guided by a mentor of their own choosing.

The world’s ‘Best Young Chef’

At 24, chef Jet Loos is one of the world’s youngest, most talented and successful chefs. Among other things, she cooked at De Groene Lantaarn**, Restaurant Percel* and the Norwegian restaurant RE-NAA**. During the competition, Jet was expertly guided by Michelin-starred chef Dick Middelweerd, owner of restaurant De Treeswijkhoeve**, where Jet also currently works.

During the final, she made a strong impression with her ‘Flavour of the Sea’ dish featuring Norwegian cod. Her performance was rewarded with a standing ovation from the moved jury. Jet says it was a fantastic competition: “I will carry this experience with me throughout the rest of my career.”
