Kanye West sued by staff: ‘we only get sushi’

Things had been quiet around Kanye West for a while, but yesterday some news about him came out; he is being sued by former teachers at his own Donda Academy. The reason: the working conditions were supposedly truly awful. For example, they were not provided with chairs or tables, and were served nothing but sushi for lunch every day.

And that last detail is, of course, making all the headlines, because it really is a bizarre rule, but it also sounds like a hilarious reason to sue someone.
‘We weren’t allowed to bring our own food’
The two former teachers suing Kanye also said that there was no janitor present, and that the meals served at school were supposed to contain nutrients. That was not the case: every day of the week, only sushi was available to the students and teachers. This supposedly cost Kanye around 10,000 dollars a week. A considerable expense, then, but he was also very strict about it: students were forbidden from bringing their own food from home. The only thing they were allowed to bring was water.
‘Young students ate cucumber and maki and raw sushi every day. Many children do not even like that, but nothing else was allowed,’ says one of the teachers suing Kanye. In addition to these bizarre food regulations, students were also only allowed to wear black — and all clothing had to be designer. There are currently around 100 students at the school, and 16 teachers work there… But the question, of course, is how long that will continue.
