Lidl sells special Häagen-Dazs macaron ice cream by top pastry chef Pierre Hermé

Pierre Hermé, the haute couturier of the pastry world, has teamed up with the ice cream makers at Häagen-Dazs. And ooh la la, this macaron ice cream is nothing less than heaven in a cup. Lidl is selling it now—and at a bargain price, too.

Pierre Hermé
Is the king of French patisserie, with shops in Tokyo, Paris and London. His pastries are universally acclaimed, with his macarons leading the way. The brightly coloured mini pastries, delicately pressed together with their sticky fillings… Oh, just thinking about them makes me drool. And now let me tell you that I’m also a huge Häagen-Dazs fan… You get it: my freezer is packed.
Häagen-Dazs x Pierre Hermé
Häagen-Dazs and Pierre Hermé have sent several flavours to heaven: Häagen-Dazs Macaron Double Chocolate Ganache (creamy chocolate ice cream with macaron pieces and salted chocolate swirls), Häagen-Dazs Macaron Strawberry & Raspberry (macaron pieces in strawberry and raspberry ice cream) and Häagen-Dazs Macaron Vanilla & Blueberry (macaron pieces in vanilla and blueberry ice cream).

Häagen-Dazs on sale
The regular price for a tub of this heavenly ice cream is 6.99 euros. But hey: it’s currently on sale at Lidl, where you pay 3.49 euros per 420 ml cup. I say: run to the store! Tip: the ice cream tastes best when you take it out of the freezer 10–15 minutes before serving—if you can muster the patience, that is…
