Lucy Lou: tacos & tequila

When we think of Mexican street food, tacos immediately come to mind. And what do you drink with them? Tequila, of course.

At Lucy Lou in Utrecht, they thought exactly the same thing. The entire concept of the restaurant, which opens in mid-October, revolves around these two Mexican favorites. On the menu: ten different types of tacos filled with fresh fish, organic meat and the tastiest vegetables. On top of that, you can choose from more than 50 types of tequila and mezcal. All the ingredients for a great evening.

Corn
The tortillas come from Torillería Taiyari, where authentic corn tortillas are made. Because when it comes to a real taco, those hard shells from the supermarket should never, ever come anywhere near it. The restaurant on Vredenburg has room for no fewer than 120 people.

Bold street food
The atmosphere? Edgy, rebellious and accessible. The owners describe it themselves as street food in a naughty setting. We’re very curious about exactly what that means, and can’t wait to try it. A good taco with a side dish and a few beers will cost you around € 25. If you get lost in the tequila menu, that amount may end up a little higher.
