Behind a busy shopping street, in a small alley in The Hague, you’ll find ‘t Achterommetje—if you search very carefully. A tiny little place that is always packed, despite being difficult to find.

Toasted sandwiches
We don’t find it strange that it’s always packed—especially on weekends. You can build your own toasted sandwich there, after all. Parma ham with mozzarella, for example. Or taleggio with grilled vegetables and pepper pesto.

Sandwich of the century
The sandwich of the century is highly praised by many. We get it, because it’s a thick slice of farmhouse bread with steak and truffle mayo. We also keep coming back for the rye bread with mature Dutch goat’s cheese and quince-rosemary chutney. The pumpkin and chickpea veggie burger with mint hangop is another favorite. The savory tomato and buffalo mozzarella tarte tatin is also phenomenal.
