Recipe: tie cookies
With these tie cookies, you’ll impress your entire Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor or Ravenclaw fan club. Perfect for 30 cookies and guaranteed to be a party to make and eat. Allow 40 minutes for preparation, an hour for decorating and 30 minutes for baking. You can make the cookies with your favorite cookie dough recipe. The remaining steps follow below.
Preparation (40 minutes)
- Cut out the cookies in the shape of a tie and bake them 1 day in advance.
- Roll out the red, yellow, blue and green fondant to a thickness of 3 mm. Cut out as many ties as you have cookies.
- Cut thin strips from the yellow, black and light-blue fondant and attach them to the ties with a little water.
- Attach the fondant ties to the cookies with a little sugar glue.
- Use sugar decorating icing to paint the letters on baking paper. Let them dry, spray them with golden food coloring and attach them to the cookies with a little icing.
The result? A table full of cookies that Professor McGonagall would be jealous of.
