Marmite popcorn, love it or hate it

You either love it or hate it, popcorn with marmite flavour.

It is now on the shelves in London. The creators of this marmite flavour are not stopping there; they are experimenting with multiple flavours, including gin & tonic, cheese on toast and madras curry. It is not yet available in shops in the Netherlands, but fortunately Jamie Oliver has a recipe for you.

Vuurtoreneiland Restaurant

The summer restaurant on Amsterdam’s Vuurtoreneiland will also open this winter. In summer, you eat in a greenhouse near the water, and for the winter months an old barracks building is being converted into a restaurant.

You can only reach the island by boat, and only a limited number of guests can dine on the island each evening. For 55 euros, you get a four-course dinner that changes weekly, a boat trip and drinks. There are plans to also offer guests overnight accommodation.

Cheese-Rolling Competition

Today, the annual cheese-rolling competition is being held in the English village of Brockworth. Watched by more than a thousand spectators, participants run after their cheese as it rolls down the hill. Watch the video to see what it looks like.
