Meatless Farm and Salsa Shop Open Drive Thru (and Burritos Cost Just €1!)
In the run-up to the National Meatless Week, the Kromhouthal in Amsterdam-Noord is being transformed into a temporary Drive Thru. And not just any Drive Thru; it is Europe’s first plant-based Drive Thru. You don’t necessarily have to come by car either, as there is also a special entrance for cyclists and (e-)scooters. The best news: the burritos cost just €1!
A plant-based Drive Thru—what can you expect? The products come from Meatless Farm and are made with legumes, such as peas, sourced from a collective of farmers. With the taste, bite and juiciness of meat, but 100% plant-based, the products are high in protein and low in saturated fat. For the occasion, Meatless Farm is teaming up with Salsa Shop.
Meat substitute
Meatless Farm was founded in 2016 by Danish entrepreneur Morten Toft Bech to make the world less dependent on intensive livestock farming. He and his family struggled to find a meat substitute the whole family could enjoy that wasn’t too expensive. In 2018, the company launched its original fresh mince at Sainsbury’s and is now one of the fastest-growing plant-based brands in the United Kingdom, available in 24 countries—in the Netherlands, it can be ordered via Crisp and Gorillas.
