While stars often come with stuffy fuss and a bill that gives you heartburn, the Bib Gourmand restaurants 2025 are precisely the places where you can eat very well without emptying your savings account.

Bib Gourmand: where quality and price happily sit down at the same table

What makes a restaurant worthy of a Bib Gourmand? Simply put: top-quality food at a reasonable price. No fiddling with tweezers on your plate or bills that require you to take out a second mortgage. No, just genuinely delicious food at a fair price.

As the Michelin selection director says: “It’s about generosity, the desire to delight guests with genuinely delicious food and a sincere commitment to offering quality at accessible prices. The latter is a challenge, as we know all too well.”

In times of inflation and shrinkflation, that is a breath of fresh air. So, here’s to them: our deep bow to these nine delicious newcomers.

Maastricht: two new Bib Gourmand restaurants in the south

The ever-cozy city of Maastricht is getting no fewer than two new Bib Gourmand restaurants in 2025. Here you can taste what Bib Gourmand really means: no fuss, just incredibly delicious food.

Café Sjiek – Maastricht

When you say Maastricht, you say Sjiek. Café Sjiek is known as Maastricht’s first informal restaurant, with a wonderful wine bar and French finesse on the menu. Not so much a restaurant as a living room. French classics fly around your ears here (think sole meunière and steak tartare préparé), always with that charming Burgundian wink. Be sure to order the zoervleis too!

Prix de Rome – Maastricht

Prix de Rome serves original dishes that impressed Michelin. The style of the cuisine is best described as ‘modern French’. Everything is fresh and sourced from the best, often regional, suppliers. Chef Wouter Houten and his team cook with passion and dedication at a consistently high level, without losing sight of the excellent value for money.

Thailand in Nuth: Reua Thai

Reua Thai in Nuth proves that you don’t have to travel to Bangkok for authentic Thai food. At Reua Thai, they stick to traditional Thai recipes while giving them a modern twist. Think smoked trout with smoked kipper and shiitake, or grilled pork with red onion and mint.

NEV Eindhoven: Turkish with a twist

NEV is a standout on Eindhoven’s culinary scene. No traditional meze platters here, but a playful interpretation of Turkish cuisine. From ox tongue with lavash to grilled octopus with a Bloody Mary cocktail. Extraordinary!

Avenue43 & Petite: independent spirits in Oss and Sint-Oedenrode

What do these two establishments have in common? They put a twist on flavors you think you know.

Avenue43 – Oss

A trendy French restaurant where they cook with local produce and as little waste as possible. The kitchen dares to combine. Canadian crab with grapefruit, prawns with calamansi and cress? Yes, please!

Petite – Sint-Oedenrode

Dine in a bistrot, hold a meeting in the boardroom or spend the night in the monumental scholaster’s house; there is certainly nothing petite about the place, but it is incredibly delicious. For less than fifty euros, you can enjoy a wonderful menu at Petite.

Zeeland represent: Karel V in Goes

Restaurant Karel V is located in one of the oldest buildings on the harbor of Goes. The set menu is an ode to balance: sweetbreads with fried sauerkraut and tarragon; this is Zeeland with swagger.

Leiden: Café de Gaper

Café de Gaper sounds like your local pub, but here they serve dishes that make pub classics pale in comparison. True flavor bombs on your plate, such as artichoke with champagne and Leiden cheese.

Papendrecht: De Ertepeller takes you around the world

De Ertepeller is situated at the most beautiful spot in the Drechtsteden, overlooking the busy confluence of three rivers. For those looking for a boundary-pushing experience, there is the Ertepeller World Tour menu: a journey of discovery through flavors from around the world.

Why you should check out these Bib Gourmand restaurants 2025

In short: do you want culinary finesse, but not a 17-course menu that has you loosening your belt halfway through and blocking your debit card? Then these nine newcomers are the holy grail.

They serve everything from comfort food to fine dining, but without the Michelin-star airs. Just delicious food, fair prices and no fuss.
