New restaurant for star couple Jonnie and Thérèse Boer

Jonnie and Thérèse Boer are continuing to grow their business: their restaurant De Librije in Zwolle, which has three Michelin stars, is of course famous. But they also own other brasseries and restaurants in both Zwolle and Bonaire. And another new addition will soon join the fold…

Although the gastro power couple say they were not looking for another expansion, they could not let this opportunity pass them by:
Zwolle success
The much-loved Nieuwe Markt in Zwolle has been home to the successful Brasserie Jansen, owned by Andrea de Lange and Rik van Middendorp, for almost ten years. Here you will find an extensive menu featuring classics such as steak tartare, as well as eggs Benedict and an extensive vegan menu. The great thing is that you can order anything from the entire menu from ten in the morning until ten at night.
The owners feel that the time has come and want to hand over the reins so they can enjoy a well-earned rest, as well as other projects. And there was really only one party to whom they wanted to entrust their brasserie: Jonnie and Thérèse, who, according to De Lange, will look after the restaurant and its staff with the same dedication they have always shown.
Too good an opportunity to miss
As Thérèse puts it: “We were not really looking for a new restaurant, but we could not pass up such a beautiful place as Brasserie Jansen. It is a perfect addition to our Brass Boer and Bar Senang (also on Nieuwe Markt). Three very different businesses with one goal: to spoil our guests.” The handover will officially take place on 1 January 2022.
Never change a winning team
They do not plan to change much about Brasserie Jansen, apart from perhaps adding a few dishes to the menu in time that would fit in well. They are very happy with the brasserie as it is now, and as far as they are concerned, the staff, menu and operations will remain unchanged. During the transition, Andrea de Lange will remain involved for another quarter to ensure everything runs smoothly, and on 1 April she and Van Middendorp will officially leave the brasserie during the festive 10th-anniversary celebrations.
We wish them all a wonderful future!
