New series: Young Falcons

Have you always wanted to know what goes on at one of the largest hotel chains in the Netherlands? Omroep Max has come up with another gem; the first episode of the documentary series Young Falcons will be broadcast on 18 October.

From the 18th onward, every Wednesday evening you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the Van der Valk hotels. The Van der Valks together form the largest hospitality family in the Netherlands. They have more than a hundred hotels at home and abroad.
Fourth generation
Most family businesses do not last nearly this long; arguments are more often the rule than the exception. The Van der Valk family, on the other hand, has been running the business for generations without any fuss: the fourth generation since the company was founded is now in charge.
Founder Martinus van der Valk opened the first Van der Valk hotel in 1939; by now, his great-grandchildren Annabel (25), Bill (30), Steven (33), Ab (43), Esther (41) and Marije (36) are at the helm.
Jonge Valken can be seen every Wednesday at 10:15 p.m. on NPO 1 from 18 October.
