New trend in the coffee world: the edible to-go coffee cup

We all get through liters of coffee every day. Not just at home, but also to-go from our favorite coffee shops. And instead of paper to-go cups, you might soon be drinking from completely edible coffee cups – one of the latest trends of 2022.

It will come as no surprise, but disposable cups for your takeaway coffee are bad for the environment. These days, we are seeing more and more sustainable options, made from biodegradable materials and therefore less harmful. But one that is also completely edible? Until now, we had never seen that before.
Crispy cup
Cupffee’s coffee cup is 100% vegan and, after drinking your cappuccino, you can simply eat it. The cup is made from grain products such as oats and wheat, which means it basically tastes like a delicious cookie. But a crispy cookie and hot coffee? Surely that ends up as a soggy mess? Not with this cup. Thanks to its heat- and moisture-resistant properties, the cup stays crispy for up to 40 minutes – without leaking.
As light as a coffee cookie
In addition, the cup is not heavy, but just as light as any other coffee cookie, contains only 56 to 105 calories (depending on the size), and no artificial coloring or sweeteners are used. Curious what it tastes like? You can order online, both for the hospitality industry and as a private customer, on Cupffee’s website.
