Why adding a splash of Licor 43 to your coffee is an incredibly good idea

The very best thing about working cozily at the office again? That coffee kick… No, I don’t mean a fantastic TikTok recipe, I mean that cute splash of liqueur in your coffee. Here in the editorial office, it’s a regular ritual. Especially that ice-cold coffee with Licor 43 is a favorite.

Licor 43, who doesn’t know it? The Spanish liqueur with 43 secret ingredients is made in Cartagena, Spain, and the centuries-old recipe is shrouded in just as many mysteries as Coca-Cola’s. We already knew that you can do anything with Licor 43. Have you tried this divine recipe for Licor 43 apple turnovers from the Airfryer, for example? Or the Easter eggs with Licor 43 or this boozy chocolate cake with Licor 43? For our favorite office coffee, you don’t even need to put on your cooking apron!
Licor 43 Baristo
An ice-cold coffee kick on a scorching hot day is exactly what I need when I arrive at the office after the rat race of the morning routine with kids and traffic jams. Just a splash of Licor 43, or perhaps even better, Licor 43 Baristo in my coffee with milk, and I can take on the whole world again—in a very relaxed way.
Here’s what you need for an ice-cold coffee kick
- 50 ml Licor 43 Baristo
- 50 ml milk (your choice; soy milk is a favorite here)
- Double shot of espresso
- Optional—and yes, please: whipped cream and salted caramel

How to make an ice-cold coffee kick
- Pour the milk into the milk frother and set it to the cool setting (with a Nespresso machine: press the milk frother button twice, until the ring turns light blue)
- Add a splash—or, depending on your mood, a generous pour (no judgements here!)—of Licor 43 Baristo
- Put a generous amount of ice cubes in a tall glass
- Make your favorite coffee in this glass
- Pour the cold milk mixed with Licor 43 Baristo over the coffee
- Serve with a paper straw and naughty naughty: top with whipped cream and salted caramel if desired.
What. A. Treat!
